AN OPEN LETTER TO MY ABSENT FATHER
AN OPEN LETTER TO MY ABSENT FATHER
I forgive you. I forgive you for not stepping up and being the father I deserved to have. I forgive you for never physically being there.
You did not see me learn to walk, crawl, or talk. You did not teach me to ride a bicycle or to drive. You were not there when I had my first heartbreak and wipe the tears from my eyes. You were not there for all of my accomplishments. But, I still forgive you.
I forgive you because not having you has taught me so much. It has taught me how to be strong and fight through anything life throws at me. It taught me that I can do anything without the people I think should be there. Most importantly, it taught me to never give up on the people that mean the most to me.
Not having you lead to me having an amazing stepdad. He was there when you were not. He taught me the things you were not there to teach me. He loved me when you did not.
I begged you to love me over and over again. Now, I give up.
But, I still forgive you.
You were never there and not you will continue to miss out on an amazing daughter.
You will not get to walk me down the aisle when I get married. You will not get to be a grandfather to my kids. You will not get to celebrate when I meet all my goals in life.
Thank you for your help in bringing me into this world and then setting me free.
I will fight until my last breath to make sure I have the best life with or without you. Also, for my biological kids and my two bonus kids to never go through what you put me through.
So, again I forgive you, and thank you.
