AN OPEN LETTER TO MY ABSENT FATHER I forgive you. I forgive you for not stepping up and being the father I deserved to have. I forgive you for never physically being there. You did not see me learn to walk, crawl, or talk. You did not teach me to ride a bicycle or to drive. You were not there when I had my first heartbreak and wipe the tears from my eyes. You were not there for all of my accomplishments. But, I still forgive you. I forgive you because not having you has taught me so much. It has taught me how to be strong and fight through anything life throws at me. It taught me that I can do anything without the people I think should be there. Most importantly, it taught me to never give up on the people that mean the most to me. Not having you lead to me having an amazing stepdad. He was there when you were not.
